A warm welcome to the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual SciencesÌýat Ï㽶ÊÓƵ!
Our past consists of more than 130 years of history, starting in 1883. At present we provide clinical services to more than 120,000 patients from across Québec. And we are advancing the future of ophthalmology by performing research and educating medical students, residents, clinical fellows, graduate students, and research fellows.
Ours is a vibrant department, with faculty, staff, and trainees working together to ensure excellence at every level. We consider the eye a microcosm for the body, and our many subspecialists have expertise in each of the parts of the eye and its connections to the brain. Our world-renowned researchers work in the major disciplines associated with vision, and our residency training program, fellowship programs, and medical school teaching program are all aimed at producing the very best ophthalmologists.
Please explore our website and learn about our history, what we are doing, and our plans for the future. The most important part of our department are our many talented individuals, and you will see how we are fortunate to be made up of a remarkable group, all of whom are working towards excellence in the clinic, operating room, classroom, or laboratory.
