The Ingram School of Nursing (through GAIHN) supports a concentration in Global Health (GHC). Students accepted into the Global Health Concentration are expected to:
- Successfully complete the Global Health Direct Entry course of study (for DE students) or the Global Health Nurse Bachelor Entry (for NBE students) course of study.
- Compete a pre-departure online module and attend the 1-day Global Health Pre-departure Workshop.
- Be familiar with the contents of the Health Knows No Boundaries: A Nursing Students' Guide to International Health Involvement [.pdf]
- Engage with visiting international students and faculty
- Attend Re-Entry (REW) workshops upon their return to assist with reintegration
- Contribute to GH learning at the School through presentation(s)/discussion(s) of the GH placement upon return
and are encouraged to:
- Attend and participate in McGill Nurses for Global Health (MNGH) and GAIHN Activities
- Advocate on behalf of global health issues.
Associated costs
Students in the Global Health Concentration will have additional financial expenses including the cost of their GH placement (International sites are usually more costly), and any costs associated with communicating with Global Health Concentration Instructors and the Global Health Concentration coordinator throughout their studies.
