Open Science In Conversation: Make it Open, Make it FAIR, Make a Difference

Wednesday, April 14, 2021 12:00to13:00

How do you ensure your data is shared in a way that most contributes to the generation of new discoveries? Which tools, infrastructure, and standards do you choose to make your data open and FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable)? How can the global neuroscience community reach consensus about best practices?

In a research environment beginning to burst with open data, standards, and tools, it can be hard to know where to start. The International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility (INCF) is an organization dedicated to advancing the reproducibility and reusability of neuroscience research. The INCF brings together the global research community and coordinates efforts to identify, develop, review, and endorse tools and resources that promote open and FAIR research practices. The INCF also provides training on using open standards and best practices to facilitate reproducibility and to publish research outputs, including data and code.

Join us for a discussion where Dr. Helena Ledmyr, INCF Director of Development & Communications, and Dr. Jean-Baptiste Poline, Chair of the INCF Council for Training, Science and Infrastructure, as they share their experience and insights on the opportunities and challenges of coordinating the global research community to promote open and FAIR research practices.

Register now for what promises to be an informative discussion on principles and practices that are becoming requirements in today’s research landscape!

About the OPEN SCIENCE IN CONVERSATION Series

Open Science has the power to transform research and care, accelerate the discovery of new treatments and cures and ultimately change lives. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about an unprecedented level of openness and shifted biomedical research into high gear, with scientists and innovators spontaneously adopting Open Science in a race against time to solve the global crisis.

At The Neuro we are committed to openly sharing data, resources and expertise in order to rapidly bring an end to the suffering caused by neurological disorders. In this webinar series, learn how The Neuro, and other communities around the globe are putting Open Science in action, accelerating discovery to benefit patients and the global society.
