One of The Neuro鈥檚 most distinguished neurosurgeons celebrates his 97th birthday today.
Dr. Gilles Bertrand is an internationally recognized authority on, and has made substantial original developments to, the surgical treatment of spinal disorders and the microsurgical treatment of pituitary tumours.
He has also made outstanding contributions to graduate education in Canada as a Director of 香蕉视频's Neurosurgical Post-Graduate Training Program.
Dr. Bertrand was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1988. He was awarded the M茅daille du Lieutenant Gouverneur in 1949 and the Canadian Centennial Medal in 1992.
The director of The Neuro, Dr. Guy Rouleau, sent his birthday wishes to Dr. Bertrand.
Dr. Abbas Sadikot, a friend and former colleague, also sent his best wishes and an update on some recent activities.
