The Mental Health Research Speaker Series - Excitement or Dread? Returning to our pre-pandemic lives.

This informal talk will discuss how we can adjust to the transition back to working in our offices at McGill. Professor Koestner will review relevant research on habits, goals, and routines. He will highlight a new concept in motivation called “need-crafting” which argues that, as we get older, we should seek to redesign our work lives so that they better satisfy our needs for autonomy, relatedness, and competence.

Professor Richard Koestner is a professor in the Department of Psychology at 㽶Ƶ. He has been researching human motivation and goal-setting for over 30 years. He is the Founder and Director of the McGill Human Motivation Lab and has published over 200 scientific articles. In 2008, he won the Principal’s Prize for excellence in teaching at McGill.
