McGill’s Performance Dialogue Process
Effective Performance Dialogue involves a partnership between supervisors and employees and is based on the annual planning and regular review of pre-established individual objectives that are linked to unit priorities. As an employee, this Performance Dialogue process can enable you to receive valuable feedback on your overall performance as well as to actively manage your professional development and career pursuits. Performance Dialogue supports a culture of continuous learning for individuals, teams and the institution at large. By developing an in-depth understanding of the potential of this process, you will be able to maximize its value not only for your own professional pursuits but for those of your unit as well.
This in-class workshop focuses on the practical aspect of performance dialogue as an M Staff.
In this workshop, participants will:
- Learn how to best use the Performance Dialogue Process in support of unit and individual objectives, engagement, continuous learning and career development;
- Discover more about McGill’s evolving Talent Management program, with revised competencies in the job families and the integration of the 7 Behavioral Competencies; and
- Explore the role that they can play in their own Performance Dialogue process (setting SMART objectives, ongoing competency development, ensuring ongoing feedback, career development/succession, etc.) through exercises, scenarios and discussion.
