Kyle Kubler has joined the McGill Writing Centre as a Faculty Lecturer. He received a PhD in Communication from the University of Washington, Seattle in 2021, and is an affiliated research fellow at their Center for Journalism, Media, and Democracy. During his studies, he was a recipient of a Mellon Fellowship for Public Humanities as well as a Digital Storytelling Fellow with the University of Washington Libraries. As a new arrival to Montreal, he will continue to use his French skills, which he applied as a volunteer translator and interpreter for the Northwest Immigrants Rights Project helping francophone immigrants navigate their rights and obtain resources in Seattle, WA. Kyle Kubler joins us with six years of post-secondary teaching experience in digital media literacy, technology and politics, and qualitative research. He is well-positioned to teach undergraduate and graduate students how to effectively use narrative, digital storytelling, rhetoric, and communication theories when they write for academic, scholarly, digital and public audiences.
