About McGill Chamber Jazz Ensemble I

Participation: Entrance is by audition (seeÌýaudition schedules). ÌýThis ensemble is open to music students, and Ï㽶ÊÓƵ students from other faculties.
The McGill Chamber Jazz Ensemble is a ten-piece ensemble with a focus on contemporary jazz and student works.
Rehearsals are run in a workshop fashion, where creative new pieces by our students and faculty are explored and readied for performance.

The McGill Chamber Jazz Ensemble II is designed to provide instrumentalists and vocalists with a high-quality performance ensemble that emphasizes reading (as compared to combo, which is more improvisational). The ensemble is under the direction of jazz trumpeter, Bill Mahar.
