Spiritual Yoga with MORSL - February 19th
The movement-based exercise that many Westerners associate with Yoga is in fact only the asanas, the physical branch of a multi-dimensional spiritual practice that originated in India thousands of years ago.
Though practicing the asanas develops strength, stamina, and balance, it is but a gateway into the mental, emotional, and spiritual practice that Yoga represents. The word "Yoga" in Sanskrit (image above) actually translates as 'union' or 'connection'. The true aim of Yoga is to connect us to our innermost emotions and the universe around us.
The spiritual side of yoga is what makes it such a powerful practice. If you are looking to learn more about how yoga connects with spirituality, please join us for this enlightening and active yoga session. During this session, students will learn yogic philosophy in conjunction with the meaning behind various yoga practices in these sessions led by a certified yoga instructor. Through engagement in multiple aspects of Yoga, including pranayama, meditation, and asana, students will learn about the spiritual practice of yoga.
