Partner event - Sikh Heritage Celebration
Join the Montreal Sikh community in celebrating the 2nd annual Sikh Heritage Event of Quebec from May 2nd to May 6th, 2018.  The Heritage event will begin at Concordia University (May 2nd and 3rd) and will continue at Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar in Lasalle (May 4th, 5th and 6th).Â

May 4 & 5, 10h-20h at the Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar, 7801 Cordner St. Lasalle, H8N 2X2
May 6, 10h-15h at the Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar, 7801 Cordner St. Lasalle, H8N 2X2
This event seeks to engage the community through the exhibition of Sikh Arts and illustrate the core aspects of Sikhism. This year, the Heritage event will feature the exquisite artwork of a Montreal Sikh - Juss Kaur. On all days, there will be langar sewa (free vegetarian meals), live musical performances, and turban-tying demonstrations.Â
Visitors in attendance on May 5th, 2018 (10:15 am) will experience a fully guided visit of the Gurdwara consisting of explanations of Sikh beliefs and symbols, live performances of Sikh music (Kirtan), turban-tying demonstrations, raising-of-the-flag ceremony (Nishan Sahib Seva), and fierce martial arts (Gatka).
