Partner event - Sikh Heritage Celebration 2019

With the proud participation of the McGill Sikh Students' Association, join the Montreal Sikh community and the  in celebrating the 3rd annual Sikh Heritage Event of Quebec from May 8th to May 12th, 2019.  The Heritage event will begin at Concordia University (May 8th and 9th) and will continue at Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar in Lasalle (May 11th and 12th). 

SCHEDULE:

May 8 & 9: 10:00 AM - 17:00 PM: Concordia's EV building (1515 Ste-Catherine W., Montreal H3G 2W1)
May 11 & 12: 12:00 - 15:30 PM: Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar (7801 Cordner, Lasalle, H8N 2X2)

This event seeks to engage the community through the exhibition of Sikh Arts and illustrate the core aspects of Sikhism. On all days, there will be langar sewa (free vegetarian meals), live musical performances, and turban-tying demonstrations. 

Visitors in attendance on May 11 & 12 will experience the Gurdwara and be able to explore Sikh beliefs and symbols, live performances of Sikh music (Kirtan), turban-tying demonstrations, raising-of-the-flag ceremony (Nishan Sahib Seva), and fierce martial arts (Gatka).
