The Morgan Arboretum boasts the darkest skies on the Island of Montreal making it an ideal place for urban astronomy. This is why the Montreal Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) chose to establish the Bellevue Observatory here in 2012. The observatory shelters a 14" robotic, research-grade telescope that can deliver stunning images of the universe. On special evenings, the public is invited to join RASC members to listen to a brief lecture in the Conservation Centre followed by outdoor stargazing through their telescopes when the sky is clear.
