Q:

How many nominations are permitted per department?

We encourage a maximum of 2 nominations per department, per award. 

Q:

How many nominations are permitted per student?

A:

A student may be nominated for multiple awards; they will be selected for the one that best matches their student status.

Q:

For the Bronfman Paterson Top-Up awards, how many pages are required for the research outline, or in the case of renewals, the progress report?

A:

The MISC recommends a maximum of 3 pages (single spaced, not including citations) for these documents.

Q:

May faculties outside of the Faculty of Arts nominate a student?

A:

Yes, providing the emphasis of the students’ research is Canadian.

Q:

Are electronic versions of transcripts acceptable?

A:

Yes, provided they come directly from the nominating department. Otherwise they should be followed up with originals in the mail and received by the deadline date.

Q:

Will feedback be provided to applicants?

A:

No.  Due to the large number of applications received, the McGill Institute for the Study of Canada will not be able to provide individual feedback on applications.
