Course information
Ìý
A full-time course load at McGill is 12-15 credits per term. Most undergraduate level (100-500 level) courses are worth 3 credits each. Exchange students are not permitted to take more than 15 credits per term.
To find courses offered at McGill, you can searchÌýMcGill's course calendar. The eCalendar includes a full description of courses offered by McGill and university regulations which will govern your stay at McGill. While researching courses you plan to take, note any pre-requisites or other course restrictions which may apply to them.
Most courses have limited enrolment, and course access and registration to any given course is not guaranteed, but is subject to availability, and may be subject to the approval of a McGill adviser. It is understood that limited enrolment, normal timetabling and scheduling constraints apply to all students, including exchange students.
Exchange students are permitted to take up to 1 course outside their admitted faculty if space permits and there are no restrictions. This course can be from the School of Continuing Studies, however you should verify with your home university whether you will receive credit for this course.
The following courses, among others, are NOT open to exchange students:
- courses offered at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ by some professional faculties that are restricted to degree candidates in their programs;
- research project courses and thesis courses;
- graduate-level courses (if admitted to McGill as an undergraduate Faculty of Arts exchange student);
- special topics courses.
The courses listed on your exchange application only serves as a guide when evaluating your application for admission and does not guarantee enrollment into any course.ÌýÌý
Note: course outlines are provided by the individual instructors, and are notÌýto be disseminated or made available to students prior to the first scheduled lecture.
