Transitions and Global Modernities

About

The Research Group on Transitions and Global Modernities explores the similarities and differences arising from the current debates and cleavages present in a wide array of societies and states across the globe from a historical perspective. Focusing on different notions of historical transformation, the group is a hub for a transnational network of leading scholars and researchers. Bringing together historians from a vast array of methodological approaches, academic traditions and research concentrations, it dedicates each academic year to examining a specific theme within the Centre’s mandate. It hosts events oriented on the theme of the year, and it co-hosts events with the Center’s other research groups and with centers/institutions at McGill and beyond.
