Starting in January 2018, the McGill Library is rolling out a fleet of seven brand new self-check machines at the following branches:

Changes to how you access Books24x7 e-books
Update, January 2018: In the summer of 2017, Books24x7 was migrated to a new platform Skillsoft. As of November 2017, Books24x7 is no longer available. All content that was provided by Books24x7 is now accessible in Skillsoft.
ProQuest downtime, January 27, 10pm through January 28, 6am
On Saturday,January 27, 2018, ProQuest will launch an 8-hour product maintenance window worldwide to upgrade infrastructure and enhance security.
Between 10pm, Saturday, January 27 and 6am, Sunday, January 28, most of our ProQuest resources will be unavailable.

The Library is closed for the holidays from Saturday, December 23, 2017through Tuesday, January 2, 2018, inclusive.

uPrint service will be unavailable from Dec. 14 at 5pm until Dec. 15 at 6am
The uPrint service will be unavailable due to an upgrade on Thursday, December 14 at 5pm until Friday, December 15 at approximately 6am.
· Print jobs attempted during the upgrade will not be accepted; no warning message will be sent.
RESOLVED: Issue with access to Classic Catalogue
Update, December 1, 2pm: This issue has been resolved.
We are currently experiencing an issue with the Classic Catalogue. Itis safe to use and continues to operate normally but anyone trying to access itwill see a security error that they need to bypass in order to use it.
Library staff and McGill IT are working to fix technical issues that are causing the security error.
Exam Period Access to Nahum Gelber Law Library for Fall 2017
From November 27 to December 21, McGill students will be able to access the Nahum Gelber Law Library 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As agreed between the Students' Society of 㽶Ƶ (SSMU) and the Law Students Association (LSA), the Nahum Gelber Law Library will limit access to the three upper floors of the library to Law students only during the December 8 to December 21 examination period.
Starting December 8, book group study rooms two weeks in advance
Starting December 8, the Library’s room booking system will be accepting reservations 2 weeks in advance. This change will lead to a more equitable sharing of study spaces through the online system. Library users will still be able to book group study rooms for up to 2 hours at a time and may book up to 4 hours per week.

SSMU's Library Improvement Fund now accepting proposals
For over two decades, the Library Improvement Fund (LIF) has invested in the most important Library needs of the undergraduate student body in order to enrich the student academic experience. This fund is administered by the Students’ Society of 㽶Ƶ (SSMU) and is made up of a fee contribution of $8.50 per full-time student per semester, matched equally by alumni donors.
