Call for Proposals:
Are you a McGill researcher, student, or staff member involved in a project to promote or incorporate open research practices? The Organizing Committee invites lightning talk proposals for the inaugural McGill Library open research symposium: The future is open: Building an open research community at McGill. Lightning talks consist of a 5-minute presentation highlighting open research, cutting-edge practice, or both. We are hoping to feature a range of presentations representing many disciplines.

About the Symposium:
McGill Library is excited to announce an upcoming event: The future is open: Building an open research community at McGill. Inspired by the UNESCO Declaration on Open Science, this in-person half day symposium aims to bring together McGill and affiliated researchers, staff, faculty, and students from across disciplines interested in open research, including open access, open data, open methods, and open source. The program will include keynote and lightning talks. This event will also provide an opportunity to foster campus connections and ignite a dialogue on engaging an open research community at McGill.
