Wi-Fi network: Messages on iOS and MacOS devices
On July 11th, the security certificate that secures authentication to McGill's wpa.mcgill.ca, eduroam, and cusm-muhc.mcgill.ca Wi-Fi networks was renewed. This certificate allows you to sign on to the Wi-Fi network in a secure manner. For Android and most Windows devices, no change was necessary, but most iOS and MacOS devices are displaying a message that prompts users to accept the certificate.
New two-factor authentication (2FA) enhancements
Over the next few months, we will introduce enhancements for those of you that use Microsoft Authenticator for two-factor authentication (2FA), and make it much easier for you to report suspicious emails in Outlook.
UNIWeb decommissioning on Aug.11, 2023
On August 11, 2023, UNIWeb will no longer be accessible to McGill staff and students.Ìý Given the very low usage rate and relatively high cost of the UNIWeb license, the decision has been taken to discontinue access to this tool.Ìý

Zoom licenses will be reset on May 18, 2023: Your login is required to reactivate privileges
On May 18, 2023, McGill will reset its Zoom licenses back to their basic (default) setting for account maintenance purposes and to remove inactive accounts. In order to reinstate your full Zoom account functionality, you will need to login anew. With the basic account setting, meeting times will be shorter and you will not be able to create recordings.

Microsoft Teams issue on Mac
Microsoft's recent standard service update inadvertently introduced a code error causing Microsoft Teams to intermittently crash for Mac client users. Microsoft is on track to deploy a fix by the end of May. However, it may take up to a month for Microsoft to complete the deployment. As the deployment progresses, users may start to experience mitigation relief.ÌýÌý
