Intern Hiring Process
Students are required to apply for and secure their own internships. The Internship Administrator in the Internships & Student Affairs Office provides tools, service referral, coaching and placement leads for students to pursue.
Suggested intern hiring process for Employers/Site Supervisors:
- Students apply to posted position according to procedure outlined in “Student Hiring/Selection Process” in the .
- Employers review and screen applications.
- Employers interview candidates virtually, in their office or at McGill (upon request).
- Employers extend offers to student and students are encouraged to accept the first offer presented.
- If student accepts, student must complete and submit an to the ISA Office.
- Once Proposal Form is approved by Internship Administrator, student and Site Supervisor read, complete and sign the Internship Agreement & Learning Plan. Signed document is then emailed to Internship Administrator for a final signature at least 2 weeks prior to internship start date.
