ISS offers a host of services to undergraduate and graduate degree students, exchange/visiting students, and other students who opt in to pay McGill Student Services fees.Ìý

If you are seeking immigration advice, please make sure to be as detailed as possible about your situation, your questions and attach any pertinent supporting documents, so that our immigration advisors can best assist you. Please refrain from submitting a webform containing minimal information or requesting an appointment without specifying your inquiry.Ìý

Immigration Advising appointments can be offered to current degree-seeking McGill international students who pay student services fees. Students from the School of Continuing Studies, McGill staff and parents are not eligible to book Immigration Advising Appointments ().  Ìý
30 minute Immigration Advising Appointment (virtual or in person):ÌýÌý
If you are a degree-seeking McGill international student and you would like to meet with an immigration advisor for complex matters such as to review your application documents, or if you have been refused for an application and/or you are out of status, please follow these steps:ÌýÌý
Send a detailing your situation and include your specific questions. Please upload any relevant documents that you would like the advisor to see.ÌýÌý
Your Request form will be reviewed and triaged by a member of the ISS staff. Please note, not all requests for an appointment will be granted. Depending on the nature of your request, you may either receive a written response to your question(s) or a booking link to book a 30 minute appointment with an Immigration Advisor.ÌýÌýÌý
The booking link will include instructions on how to log into the , how to book a virtual or in-person appointment and how to upload your documents (if applicable).ÌýÌý
If you do need to upload documents for review, please upload them in the at least 24 hours before your appointment in order to give the immigration advisor sufficient time to review. Please note, during peak periods, appointments may only be available within 1-2 weeks.ÌýÌý
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, you can do so up 24 hours before your appointmentÌýon theÌý

Rapid Advising is a 5 minute Immigration Advising session for general and quick questions regarding temporary immigration matters (study, work and visitor documents). Our office does not advise on permanent residency (PR). If your case is complex please follow the steps above to book a 30 minute Immigration Advising Appointment.Ìý
