TheÌýCREATE in Green ChemistryÌýprogram broadly aims to produce highly qualified personnel who will be capable of assuming leadership roles in Canada’s transition to a clean technology-based economy. A key strength of this program is its strong multidisciplinary component, with members bridging the gaps betweenÌýchemistry, chemical engineering, and management/strategy.
The training program featuresÌýa series of events to improve professional practice/skills development, bridge interdisciplinary knowledge gaps, and mastery of new tools and techniques. Knowledge about the business and policy contexts of Green Chemistry will be presented via case studies. Partners include GreenCentre Canada, Zamboni Chemical Solutions, DelmarChemicals, and the American Chemical Society’s Green Chemistry institute.Ìý
Students completing the program will be equipped with the practical skills, real-world experience, and interdisciplinary knowledge they need to become effective clean technology change agents.
The program offers activities and programs for trainees in the CREATE program and for other interested students:
- Seminars
- Webinars
- Workshops (professional skills, research based techniques, multidisciplinary knowledge)Ìý
- Exchange programs dedicated to undergraduate and graduate studentsÌý
Trainees of the CREATE program in Green Chemistry also have access to state-of-the-artÌýequipment.
