Biography: 

I am a Professor of Pediatrics (affiliate in Human Genetics) and a Pediatric Nephrologist at the Montreal Children's hospital with an interest in hereditary renal disease. I direct a research laboratory focused on the molecular basis of kidney development and monogenic kidney disease; I have trained 11MSc, 8 PhD, 6 PDF, 4 clinician scientists and 40 summer students. I served as Chief of Pediatric Nephrology for 10 years. In addition to my fundamental research program, I have been involved in clinical research projects funded by Canadian federal agencies with Pharmaceutical and disease-specific foundation partners to develop novel molecular therapies for genetic disease. I have served on the executive for the McGill Clinical Investigators Program and have been asked to lecture on "How to build a research program" in recent years. I served as Chair of the CIHR INMD Advisory board and have served on a variety of peer review panels. I have established a broad network of national and international collaborators and have supported emerging training programs in India and the Ukraine in past years.
