Ivan Topisirovic
Biography: 

van Topisirovic obtained M.D. (2000) and Ph.D. (2003) from the University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia. During postdocs in Drs. Borden's (MSSM) and Sonenberg's (McGill) labs, he studied the mechanisms of post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. In 2011, he joined the Gerald Bronfman Dept. of Oncology, Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, where he is presently a Full Professor.

His current research focuses on studying the mechanisms that coordinate translational and metabolic programs in homeostatic stress-adaptation and disease. Topisirovic published over 130 manuscripts, and the work in his lab is funded by grants from national (e.g., CIHR) and international (e.g., NIH) funding agencies.
