Guojun Wang
Biography: 

Guojun Wang is Associate Professor in the Department of East Asian Studies. Before joining McGill in 2023, he worked at Vanderbilt University (U.S.) for eight years.

He specializes in early modern Chinese literature and culture, with a particular interest in the intersections between writing, performance, materiality, gender, and legal practices. He has studied costuming in 17th-century Chinese drama and body examinations in China’s forensic literature.

Growing up in a village in North China, Wang deeply understands the challenges international students and scholars face. He is willing to share his intellectual passion and professional experiences with the McGill community.
