Program Description
The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mining Engineering offered by the Department of Mining & Materials Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering is a research-intensive program that emphasizes focused and engaging learning opportunities. The program's objective is to equip students with skills in literature review, statistical analysis, and research dissemination to pursue professional opportunities in academia or industry.

Unique Program Features
- The primary objective of the program is to train students to become leaders in their field: to show familiarity with that field, to carry out, to organize original research and to contribute to the knowledge base. As such, student’s spend most of their time conducting research though some classes are still required;
