International Course on Cultural Psychiatry and Global Mental Health 2017
The course attracted 65 participants and provided knowledge and lively exchange on topics in cultural psychiatry, trauma, and global mental health drawing on expertise and clinical experiences from Canada, Nepal and Norway. The partners were the McGill Global Mental Health program, Oslo University (Department of Psychiatry), and Tribhuvan University (Department of Psychiatry and Institute of Medicine). A second workshop on developing child mental health services in Nepal was held following the two day conference. Participants included health faculty from psychiatry, psychology, nursing and medicine, community practitioners, representatives of NGOs, and policy makers. In short, the course further built our Global Mental Health training platform and strengthened our research collaborations in the region.
