Research Proposal Guidelines

The grant proposal must include the following information:Ìý

Introduction: Background and rationale for the project, importance of this initiative in the proposed settings, hypothesis, and specific aims.Ìý

Methods of Project: Explain how this project will be conducted. List the study design, study population, inclusion/exclusion criteria, sample size, study period, data to be retrieved, how and where data will be collected, etc. Include the data analysis plan.Ìý

Ethical consideration: Explain from what institution you will seek ethics approval. What steps will be taken to ensure the confidentiality and well-being of your participants, if applicable (informed consent, anonymization, secured data storage, etc.)?Ìý

Significance and potential importance: State the potential importance of your project to the local and global NCD control efforts. For group projects, state the added importance of a multidisciplinary approach to this project. Usually about one or two paragraphs.Ìý

Knowledge Translation: How will the expected outcomes inform the clinical and/or public health response for NCDs? What will you do to ensure the results are disseminated and implemented?Ìý

Appendices: Budget (1 page) and timeline (1 page).Ìý
