Tenure-track position in International Economic Law at the University of Ottawa

The uOttawa Faculty of Law is one of the strongest international law faculties in the world. It is home to a group of globally recognized scholars in international economic law, has the largest number of international law scholars in Canada and regularly hosts leading scholars from around the world. The Law School provides the opportunity to teach small seminars on a range of international trade and investment law issues to JD students, Master and PhD students, including a trade and investment law clinic, and offers a specialized LLM in International Trade and Investment Law attracting a select and diverse cohort of graduate students every year. The Law School is located at the heart of Canada’s international economic law community and has strong relationships with Global Affairs Canada, international trade institutions, like the Canadian International Trade Tribunal, and the private bar.
Title of the Position: Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. Appointment at the higher rank of Associate Professor will only be considered should the successful candidate possess the appropriate level of experience and commensurate achievements.

Case Manager at the International Bureau of the Permanent Court of Arbitration
Applications are currently being accepted for the position of full-time Case Manager at the International Bureau of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA).
The PCA is an international organization specialized in the resolution of international disputes, founded in 1899 and based in The Hague. PCA staff work in the Peace Palace, which was constructed to house the PCA in 1913. The PCA is comprised of approximately 70 staff, fellows and interns of various nationalities, dedicated to facilitating the resolution of disputes involving states, state entities, and international organizations.
Working under the direction of Legal Counsel, Case Managers provide logistical and administrative support to PCA registry cases, appointing authority matters, and are expected to proactively involve themselves in a variety of ad-hoc projects. Deadline for applications is Wednesday, 6 October 2021.

ICSID Internships
ICSID offers unpaid internship opportunities to students enrolled in a graduate degree program who are eligible and qualified for an internship (sometimes referred to as an externship) under their University rules and Bank Group requirements (see below). The main objective of the internships is to allow students with an interest in international investment dispute settlement and international investment law to gain a better understanding of ICSID’s work, enhance their academic and career goals and contribute to ICSID’s mission. To this end, the Centre is looking for enthusiastic and energetic candidates who can work effectively in a team-based environment.
Up to four internships are offered every four months, for a minimum period of 12 weeks and a minimum of 10 hours of work per week. The internship periods are September-December, January-April and May-August. The internships take place at the seat of the Centre in Washington, D.C.Â
The deadlines for applications are:
- June 15 for the September-December Internship period (fall semester)
