Facilities Management and Ancillary Services oversees construction and renovation projects across McGill campuses, from classroom and laboratory upgrades to the complete interior demolition of a building and its remodeling. This section details some of the largest projects underway.

Stewart Biology BuildingÌý
Complete redevelopment of the West block's interior spaces, construction of new state-of-the-art research and teaching laboratories and full replacement of mechanical and electrical systems.
Ferrier powerhouseÌý
Replacement of a natural gas boilerÌýwith electric boilers, installation of heat recovery system, and infrastructure upgrades/modifications to support the new equipment.
Strathcona Music BuildingÌý
Building envelope restoration, including consolidation of foundations, structural reinforcement of gables and roofs, and repair of masonry walls and windows.Ìý
Raymond BuildingÌý
Repairs to foundation and installation of French drain; replacement of HVAC systems,Ìýfume hoods, ducts, and air extraction system;Ìýinstallation of emergency showers, eyewash stations, sprinklers, chilled water loop, and heat recovery systems and sprinklers.Ìý
Raymond Greenhouse
Construction of a new greenhouse and service building connected to the Raymond Building to replace the old Raymond and Summerby greenhouses.
Sylvan Adams Sports Science Institute
Redevelopment of four row houses on Pine Ave. to accommodate a new sports research facility, expansion and consolidation into a single facility that will house a classroom, labs, offices, meeting rooms and a race track.
New Residence HallÌý
Complete replacement of block facing on building facades and repair of concrete surfaces.Ìý
McConnell Arena
Modernization of ventilation and cooling systems, replacement of ice-making systemÌýand major electrical infrastructure upgrades.Ìý
Burnside HallÌý
Replacement ofÌývertical electrical distribution system and upgrade of elevators.
Pollack Hall
Modernization of the hall’s functional and aesthetic design,Ìýrenovation of backstage area andÌýupgrade of HVAC systems.
Upper main roadÌý
Reconstruction and redesign of the upper section ofÌýthe downtown lower campus main road, including upgrade of underground infrastructure,Ìýlandscaping, lighting, outdoor furniture, and rainwater management.
680 Sherbrooke
Replacement of curtain wall of the 20 floors and top mechanical floor of the tower of the 680 Sherbrooke West building.
Trottier Space Institute
Construction of a new building linked by a footbridge to the existing Trottier Space Institute building at 3550 University Street.Ìý
