Do I have to pay to use Calcul Québec resources?

No. The access to CQ and the Alliance computing infrastructure is free of charge for all Canadian researchers and their teams.

How do I access Calcul Québec?

Students wishing to access infrastructure are able to register by providing the CQ / Alliance sponsor-ID of their supervisor. Supervisors can open an account by following the instructions above.

What is the difference between the Alliance and Calcul Québec?

From the researcher's perspective, these two organizations join forces with other regional partners and hosting institutions to deploy and operate the National Digital Research Infrastructure network. Calcul Québec is a provincial group of universities that offer services to their researchers and participate in the operation of the national infrastructure. Once researchers are registered with CQ, they can use any Alliance system across the country.
