Description of planned Activities
This project addresses the issues arising from of a lack of English-speaking skills among the health and social services employees. A wide range of public and community partners is involved. The first year of the project (2005-06) consisted of information gathering, establishing contacts and setting up the structures needed to receive interns. A communications strategy was developed. Internships have been available since the second year (2006-07). The project provides a range of community support for the interns.
