In addition, for this year’s call for research proposals, we would like to draw your attention to the Training and Retention of Health Professionals Project’s Retention Program. Our work with communities on developing applied programs for the retention of qualified English-speaking health and social service professionals creates interesting contexts in which productive research can be conducted. If you see mutually beneficial opportunities for your research and the community organizations, we encourage you to apply for funding. There is much useful research to be done on the retention of bilingual health and social services professionals. The academic community and the communities with which we work can greatly benefit from greater integration of the applied and research components of the Training and Retention of Health Professionals Project.
