Dr. Isabelle Samson (IMHL’18) has been promoted to Director of Professional Services at CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale. Prior to her promotion, Samson served as Deputy Director of Professional Services. She is a committed leader with several years of management experience in addition to maintaining an active practice in family medicine.

IMHL alumni launch project to improve health outcomes for at-risk children
Ahmad Firas Khalid, Padma Venkatasubramanian and Caroline Kisia, all 2014 alumni of McGill’s IMHL program, have teamed up to create Amama (grandmother), a community-based platform that connects grandmothers with vulnerable children to improve children’s physical and mental well-being.
In 2013, the trio won a Canada Grant Challenge to field-test a copper device they created to kill deadly water-borne pathogens.
IMHL participant spearheads TB vaccine trial in Mumbai
Dr. Daksha Shah (IMHL’20) is leading a new TB vaccine trial in Mumbai, where an estimated 40 to 50 percent of the population carries a latent TB infection. The pilot project focuses on providing treatment to close contacts of TB patients.
