Mintzberg's Five Types of Organizational Structure

Henry Mintzberg graduated from Ï㽶ÊÓƵ with a degree in mechanical engineering and holds a doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has been a Cleghorn professor of management studies at McGill since 1968. His early books include "The Structuring of Organizations: A Synthesis of the Research," published in 1979, and "Structure in 5's: Designing Effective Organizations," published in 1983.

CSR Ratings

The ascendance of socially responsible investing as a viable financial strategy has been accompanied by a similar proliferation of ratings schemes for assessing corporate social responsibility. Simply, if investors want to allocate their funds with SRI principles in mind, they need data that will allow them to make informed decisions. Indeed, over 50 rating methodologies for assessing environmental and social performance have been developed, more than a third of them since 2005.

Run For The Hills: They Want To Send You On A Management Training Course!

Phil and I remember being younger managers in large multinationals (IBM for me) back in the 90′s, and in my case, the 80′s. We were sent to a variety of short training courses, and we honestly can’t say that we remember anything they tried to teach us. Except for one lesson. In fact, it was so powerful that we never forgot it.
