Two McGill Desautels units achieve silver sustainability certification
This Fall, Ï㽶ÊÓƵ awarded new Sustainable Workplace Certifications to nine units. Among them, two McGill Desautels units earned the silver-level distinction: The Bensadoun School of Retail Management (BSRM) and IT Customer Services Team.
To earn the silver-level distinction, BSRM focused on adopting day-to-day actions that improve sustainability, like mandatory use of reusable mugs, recycling coffee pods, communal use of recycled office supplies, and using Microsoft Teams for meetings to reduce business travel. IT Customer Service’s team adopted new small sustainable actions such as turning off lights and A/V systems, waste management, and subscribing to the Office of Sustainability newsletter.
Every department at the McGill Desautels Faculty of Management has achieved sustainability certification and these actions continue to underscore staff’s commitment to fully integrate sustainable practices as part of the Faculty's focus on sustainability priorities.
