SSMU awards Management Undergraduate Society the Faculty of the Year Award and CASCO the Charitable Event of the Year
The 2006 SSMU Awards took place Wednesday, March 22, at Le 940 Restaurant, where the MUS walked away with the prestigious Faculty of the Year Award.
Nominated alongside the Engineering Undergraduate Society, the 2005 winner, and the Law Student Association, the MUS won after a four-year drought. The MUS has had a very successful year, including over $40,000 donated to various charities, a record-breaking Frosh event, and podium finishes at six international and national case competitions. Joshua Lebovic, President, accepted the award alongside fellow executives Annerudha Borkotoky, Justin Campeau, Elena Kreek, Lindsay Ho and Sharlene Quintal.
CASCO was recognized as the Charitable Event of the Year, raising $21,500 for the Montreal Children's Hospital Art Therapy Program. Runner-ups are V-Days (Vagina Monologues) and WaterCan McGill's Halloween Party. CASCO was nominated last year but did not walk away with the hardware. Erin Johnston, Meghan Morrison and Andrea Roy accepted on behalf of their committee.
