Published: 26 January 2004

McGill Information Systems professor Wonseok Oh, along with co-author Michael J. Gallivan from Georgia State University, received the Best Paper award at the Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS) in January 2004 for his paper entitled "An Empirical Assessment of Transactional Risks of IT Outsourcing."

The HICSS, as one of the major international conferences in IS, attracts more than 600 individuals from throughout the world, and the Best Paper award is highly regarded.

Papers presented at the conference have in recent years made significant contributions to the application of information systems technology. To be accepted at HICSS, all manuscripts are rigorously reviewed by people actively involved in each paper's subject area. The Best Paper award was selected by a program committee in each of the areas.

Since 1968, the HICSS has become a respected forum for the substantive interchange of ideas in all areas of information systems and technology. The objective of HICSS is to provide a unique environment in which researchers and practitioners in the information, computer and system sciences can frankly exchange and discuss their research ideas, techniques and applications.
