Principal discovers latest lessons in strategy

On March 9, 2017, the Desautels Faculty of Management was delighted to welcome Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Suzanne Fortier to one of Professor Elliot Lifson’s classes on Strategy in Context (MGPO 645).

Strategy in Context explores strategy-making in a series of contemporary industry contexts and how different environments enable some competitive modes and maneuvers, while constraining others.

Along the way, students learn to analyze:

  • industry structure and competitive dynamics and how they evolve;
  • the strategic positioning of firms;
  • and how competitive advantage is developed and sustained.
