Peladeau Wants Dot-Com in Quebec

The head of one of Quebec's biggest companies says "Quebec Inc." must evolve into a new economic movement called " Quebec.com"if the province's distinct society is to move forward. "If we want to succeed, if we want employees to pay taxes and participate in our distinct society, it takes well-paying jobs," said Pierre Karl Peladeau, president and chief executive of Quebec telecommunications giant, Quebecor Inc. "It was the idea that Quebec was controlled by outside interests in America and in Toronto," said Karl Moore, professor in the Desautels Faculty of Management at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ. "The transformation was for Quebecers to be masters in their own house so to speak."
