McGill women defeat Carabins to win Enos Cup
BCom student, Ann-Sophie Bettez and Katia Clement-Heydra each scored once and added three assists as No. 1-ranked McGill cruised to an 8-1 victory over the Montreal Carabins last night to capture the team's sixth consecutive Ed Enos Cup as champion of the Quebec university women's hockey league. Caroline Hill and Jordanna Peroff each had a pair for the Martlets, who outshot Montreal 39-19 and won for the 106th consecutive time against a QUHL opponent. McGill advances to the CIS national championship tournament, for the ninth straight season and for the 12th time in 14 years, in Waterloo, Ont., next week. Rounding out the scoring for McGill were Kim Ton-That and Lisa Zane. Cassandra Dupuis netted the lone marker for the Carabins, who took a 1-0 lead, only to see the Martlets rally with eight unanswered goals.
