McGill will give laurels for Robert Rabinovitch and J.John Cohen
Ï㽶ÊÓƵ will honor two of its own at fall convocation exercises next week. Robert Rabinovitch, former president of the CBC and former chair of McGill's Board of Governors, and J.John Cohen, a medical researcher and educator, will receive honorary degrees. Rabinovitch, who will receive his laurels at the morning convocation, received a BCom from McGill in 1964. Over a career spanning more than 40 years, he has served as deputy minister of the federal department of communications and under secretary of state before leaving to work at Claridge Inc., where he rose to executive vice-president and chief operating office. From 1999 to 2007, he was president and CEO of the CBC/Radio-Canada. From 1999 to 2009, he served as chair of McGill's Board of Governors and sat on the board of the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Health Centre.
