MANAGEMENT MASTER HAS WORLD'S ATTENTION
Published: 11 September 2009
"Unhappy is the land that needs heroes." So claims Henry Mintzberg, iconoclastic management guru at the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University. His echo of the characters in a Bertolt Brecht play is a reflection on the current economic turmoil, and what he sees as steps needed for recovery. "We don't need so much heroic leadership. What we need is what I like to call community-ship," he says. "What we need to do is build up a sense of community around the world."
