Karl Moore on Boomers, millennials and the post-truth world
Desautels Associate Professor Karl Moore writes in Forbes that executives and older people who are disoriented by the post-fact world can do themselves a favour by looking to millennials for help.
Millennials have come of age steeped in social media, they check their phones up to 150 times a day, and have become experts at wading through multiple layers of subjectivity to suss out individual ‘truth’ from the more universal ‘Truth.’
Their sense of right and wrong comes from access to information, rather than the forces that moulded older generations’ philosophies. In other words, the post-truth world is where they are at home, so older managers should let the younger people mentor them in its ways.
