Faculty of Management exports MBA program to Japan
Beginning in July, 1998, the Faculty of Management of Ï㽶ÊÓƵ will be offering its MBA Program in downtown Tokyo. The McGill MBA will be the first Canadian degree program to be offered in Japan. Courses will be taught on-site at the Yotsuya campus of Sophia University by professors from McGillÂ’s Faculty of Management, as well as by experts from local organizations. The two-year program is designed to allow students to complete the MBA degree with an International Business specialization while maintaining full-time employment. Ï㽶ÊÓƵ standards and course content will be identical with those in Montreal.
Ï㽶ÊÓƵ is widely recognized as a leader in international management education. The FacultyÂ’s global perspective is reflected not only in the strong international content of its programs, but also in the multiplicity of Faculty and students. Almost fifty percent of students in the McGill MBA Program are international and Faculty members come from around the world.
The MBA Japan is part of a broader strategic vision which will see the establishment of off-site campuses in different geographic locations over the course of the next few years. Currently, the Faculty is also spearheading several major international executive education projects, including one in the financial services in China, and another in the oil and gas and mining industries in Kazakhstan.
