Entrepreneurial spirit fuels economic growth in Quebec
In the decades following the Quiet Revolution, Quebec saw the rise of “Quebec inc.,” a new category of francophone owners and companies who were determined to make a mark in a largely anglophone-dominated business ecosystem. While global powerhouses like Couche-Tard and Bombardier demonstrate the ways in which francophone leaders have contributed to economic growth since the 1970s, Professor Karl Moore gives equal credit to entrepreneurs who have embraced Quebec’s evolving identity as a multicultural, multilingual hub for global commerce. With enough time and determination, the business community in Quebec has become more inclusive and cohesive than anywhere else in Canada.
