Desautels Faculty of Management of McGill Univesrity, in partnership with Montreal's Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC), offers a bilingual EMBA that emphasizes learning in context. What this means in practice is a distinctly different style of teaching that relies less on traditional case studies and team projects, and more on collaborative learning among the whole class. "We emphasize reflection, interfunctional integration and non-disciplinary teaching that focuses on managerial and organizational challenges," says Alain Pinsonneault, co-director of the program and a professor of management at McGill. "We rely and draw upon the collective experience of the class. In our last cohort, we calculated that the students collectively possessed over 600 years of work experience."
