Diversity of thought is an asset for companies

Research by Desautels professor Patricia Hewlin finds that employees often feel pressured to conform to company values to succeed at work, which, ultimately, compromises company performance and employee well-being.
This is especially the case when managers act with a strong sense of integrity. Prof. Hewlin’s research suggests that companies must instead encourage employees to voice their opinions without fear of repercussion.
