Swimmer Steven Bielby, a CIS gold medalist sprinter from Pointe Claire, Que., who won the Forbes as a freshman last year, will be going up against Francis Verreault-Paul, a sophomore forward from Mashteuiatsh, Que., who was the OUA hockey player of the year. Rounding out the finalists is basketball guard Matt Thornhill, a senior from Ile-Bizard, Que., who was voted QUBL player of the year and soccer scoring leader Yohann Capolungo, a sophomore midfielder from France, who led McGill to an unexpected silver-medal finish at Nationals.
