BCom sends two teams to finals at the 2006 Inter-Collegiate Business Competition

Published: 23 January 2006

Two teams of two students (Ethics: Maithili Sagar and Felicia Synder; Information Systems: Elina Betman and Elysse Buchalter) made the finals at the ICBC (Inter-Collegiate Business Competition) held at Queen's University on January 12-14, with the IS team taking a podium, finishing third overall.

In October 2005, both teams participated in a written case competition, finishing in the top six universities out of 25 business schools. These six teams were invited to Queen's University in January 2006, where they had 5.5 hours to crack a new case that was presented to a panel of representatives of the business community.

Special thanks go to Professors Richard Donovan and Larry Goldsman, who devoted much time and energy to coaching the teams. Prof. Goldsman also accompanied the team to Queen's.

The Inter-Collegiate Business Competition is Canada's oldest and largest undergraduate business case competition. Hosted annually by Queen's University students, the ICBC attracts business students from across the nation and beyond. The ICBC is an ideal opportunity for students, faculty and prominent members of the business community to interact, and exchange ideas and experiences.
