Well before the first case of COVID-19 was diagnosed, policy makers, scholars, and practitioners alike had been exploring how new developments in artificial intelligence, machine learning, robots, and the gig economy would reshape the labour market, but the extent of these effects is still debated widely.
COVID-19 is taking us rethink those debates by moving the office into the home, creating new tasks and eliminating long-established processes, and raising important questions about organizational culture and the management of diversity.
